I have quite a few apps. I love my apps. One keeps my diet on track. One allows me to play Candy Crush when I am bored. You know the drill. And I happen to have a Facebook app. Whatever no big deal. Until I received notification several of my apps needed specific permission to upgrade due to changes.
And then I saw this when I went to update my Facebook app.
If it is too small for you to read, it is informing me that: “Facebook needs access to additional permissions. Facebook is asking permission to read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
What possible reason does facebook need to read my text messages? To improve my facebook experience? NO. To sell my info for ads. Great. I swear I am going to start texting the weirdest shit to see if it pops up on my facebook.
Current ads: Yoga Pants, Online Universities, Wine, Makeup
New ads: Wood Carving, HVAC repair, Wine, Sperm Donor Opportunities, AntFarms, Webbed Toe Repair
Oh no wait, I won’t be upgrading. I know that Google is all up in my shit. I know this. But I like Google. I don’t like facebook enough to allow them to read my texts.
Facebook needs a time out to think about what they have done. Lost their damned minds…

PS. I promise no more FB posts. Pinky Promise.
